McLaren 300

The McLaren Performance M300 is a 300 hp outboard built on the Honda BF250 marine platform, developed as a Honda Officially Licensed Product in collaboration with McLaren Engineering. Drawing on McLaren’s racing heritage, the M300 performance-tunes a base Honda V6 for enhanced top-end power and mid-range torque, delivering V8-like performance in a V6 package. Key upgrades include a new camshaft for improved valve timing and high lift, a new Engine Control Unit for better efficiency and protection, and new fuel injectors for higher fuel supply — all while maintaining strong fuel economy (3.5+ MPG at cruise on 90 octane) and Honda’s signature quiet operation. VTEC technology and a dual-channel induction system round out the performance package, balancing power with efficiency and moisture control.

Durability is reinforced with an extreme-duty gearcase (rated for law enforcement and military patrol boat use), a high-corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy for interior components, HI-M coated bolts and brackets, and Honda’s patented 4-Front Corrosion Protection System with a double-sealed, multi-layered paint process. A 2-pass cooling system and comprehensive Engine Alert System (monitoring overheating, fuel contamination, oil pressure, battery, and over-rev conditions) further support long-term reliability, all backed by Honda’s transferable, non-declining True 5 Warranty.

For control and convenience, the M300 features Honda’s Intelligent Shift and Throttle (iST) system for precise handling and plug-and-play compatibility with third-party controls, plus multi-engine and dual-outboard support through Dometic’s Optimus 360 joystick steering, SeaWays heading assistance, and SeaStation virtual anchoring. Ownership is made easier with simplified maintenance, a 3-latch lock-and-seal cover for easy access, NMEA 2000 connectivity for GPS/sonar integration, and a high-output 90-amp alternator (60 charging amps) for reliable power across the RPM range.
